BIOGRAPHY

Steve L. Riggs focuses his practice on delivering legal counsel that aids in the development and implementation of sound business strategies for his clients. His commitment to clients is to navigate regulatory and legal issues on their behalf so that they may focus on achieving their broader business goals.

As a utility regulations specialist, Steve has extensive experience advocating for clients before the Arkansas Public Service Commission and other regulatory agencies. His background as general counsel for the Arkansas Power and Light Company gives him the additional perspective of an in-house lawyer, which allows him to more effectively anticipate and manage legal issues that come his clients’ way. This perspective and experience is further enhanced by his role as attorney for the Arkansas Telecommunications Relay Services Board.

In addition to utility regulation, Steve’s practice encompasses many other aspects of business law, including litigation, banking and finance. During his 45-year career, he has worked diligently to provide his clients with the highest level of counsel and service to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The legal community respects Steve’s ethical standards and legal ability, giving him a Preeminent AV rating in Martindale-Hubble. He also helped lead several sections of the American Bar Association during his esteemed career.

Steve and his wife, Janinne, live in Little Rock. Janinne is an education consultant and previously served as an assistant commissioner for the Arkansas Department of Education. In his free time, Steve enjoys playing golf and has made a hole-in-one on four different occasions.
